Beat the Heat
It's official. Summer is here. While it's been over a month since the season's start, the recent weather in the UK finally reflects it.
As many UK residents know, our insulated homes are not very well equipped to deal with hot weather. If your home or office has an air conditioning unit, that's wonderful. However, there's a simpler approach to staying cool, and it starts with your clothing.
Merino Wool
Wool? In the Summer? Absolutely! Merino Wool isn't just for cooler weather. There's some amazing properties this fabric has that allow it to perform in warm weather too.
To clarify, we're referring to ultralight Merino wool, typically 150gsm or less. While you can use slightly thicker fabrics (up to 200gsm) in milder conditions, for the best performance in hot weather, stick to ultralight options.
-
Breathability
Merino wool fibers are incredibly breathable, allowing air to circulate and keeping you cool -
Moisture-Wicking
It wicks away sweat from your skin, helping you stay dry and comfortable -
Odour Resistance
Merino wool naturally resists odours, so you can stay fresh even on the hottest days -
UV Protection
Provides a natural shield against harmful UV rays - sunblock use still recommended
Not sold on it? Merino Wool is also super soft on your skin. It won't itch and is incredibly comfortable to wear. It's also an ethical and eco-friendly material, sourced from cruelty free Australian sheep.
As well as Merino Wool clothing, consider circulating fresh air opening windows in the early morning & late evening when temperatures are lower. Also remember to stay hydrated!
If you're out and about, seek shade whenever possible.
