My wife bought these for me after waiting several months for the right size to be available. The first pair I started using started balled around the heels after 2 washes. I started using a second pair of the 3 bought and again bad balling of the fabric around the heels. Not had this with other brands of merino socks, so disappointed, which is a shame because all other items purchased from Isobaa have been great and have received 5* reviews. Would add a photo if the option were there.

Merino can sometimes pill in high-friction areas like the heels, though this should usually reduce after a few washes. That said, the level of wear you’ve experienced isn’t up to our standards, so we’ve refunded you. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope this doesn’t put you off trying Isobaa again in the future.
the socks are very comfortable and really warm. They sit very well. But unfortunately, after 2 hours of wearing, the threads came out, and the next day they simply broke, and in a very unexpected place,hole just at the top of the leg. This is unacceptable for this price.

These socks do the job! Be careful of them catching on your hiking boots though - I’ve pulled a couple of threads which is a bit annoying. They wash well. Very happy.
Bought as present, good quality and comfy ( as expected from Isobaa) arrived when expected all good!

Super comfy socks!
Warm and breathable socks. Extremely comfortable. I’m using them as every day socks for all my activities - cycling, walking, gardening etc.
The socks are comfy and warm, even when wet. I walk 5km every day, and a pair lasts me all week without washing. They have now become my travel socks and cycle touring socks.
These socks are very soft, definitely not itchy. Padding is average. I did wear through some very muddy arreas and got sand in my shoes. The sand stuck to the socks and when I get home they will definitely go in the machine.
This is the second order of the same socks. I am fussy about my kit and these meet my high standards. Warm, comfortable and hard wearing while looking good too.
Le calze sono belle, morbide, calde e comode, ma purtroppo ancora prima del primo lavaggio hanno sviluppato tantissimi pallini, ed il risultato è antiestetico. Con altre calze in merino non mi era successo.

Very comfortable. Could be a little thicker on the ball and heel of the foot but on the flip side these are great for warm weather.
My feet are size 7 UK. The S/M fits perfectly. They are so light to the touch but have the toe, sole and heel areas thickened for extra comfort padding. The ankle ribbing is not too tight. These socks are an instant favourite.Thank goodness I bought three pairs!
Merino is great for reducing smells! You don't need to wash them after every use. I am retired and wear walking socks most of the time as they are very comfortable for walking around town or on the hills.

I bought 6 pairs of these and although very good to start they have worn through quickly just above the heel . very disapointing as not a cheap sock . My old bridgedales are much older and still show little sign of wearing through

I walk 40+ miles weekly, hence have an interest in socks. I’m pleased with these, they are medium weight, comfortable and, so far, durable.
Have a couple of tops from Isobaa. Ordered pack of 3 green hiking socks, not cheap, about three months ago. Down to my last pair, which is starting to develop holes in the heels - the other two pairs had to be thrown away as totally dilapidated. Not the quality I was expecting or the longevity of an expensive ethical brand. Very disappointed as otherwise warm, comfortable, lovely colour & great packaging. I would advise against buying: my Bridgedale walking socks have lasted years by comparison
I have worn Bridgedale socks almost exclusively for over twenty years; I think they are very good quality socks. These Isobaa Merino Blend Hiking Socks compare favourably with their lighter weight trekking socks. They are every bit as comfortable and my impression is that they will wear well. Decent price too.
Great socks, what a huge difference the quality from isobaa makes. They've put an extra step in my walking stride!! Will be back for more
