Using the latest 'FulFil' Merino insulation technology from UK based HD Wool, this baffled jacket offers amazing warmth and protection using insulation that's made from recovered wool fibres collected during yarn production, so nothing goes to waste. Unlike feather & down, Merino will still insulate even when wet, so you can stop worrying about the weather forecast. Merino will keep you warm when it's cold and breathes well when it's warm, keeping you comfortable whatever the weather. It's also quick drying, naturally odour resistant and sustainable.

Our jacket outer fabric is made from recycled GREENLON® Nylon - wasted yarn from the textile industry is manufactured into recycled chips, which then go through spinning process to produce nylon recycled yarn. This outer fabric is then treated with a Durable Water Repellent coating (C0 DWR / PFC free) to give you further protection from the elements.

Great jacket- good conscience

I mostly cycle everywhere so it’s the perfect jacket when it’s really cold. I wear it under my wintercoat and I can take off layers if I get warm cycling (the only onion principle). As it’s not bulky it finds under coats!
Had to take a size M so it would fit round my belly. Am a size S round my chest though. Still looks good.

Beautiful and warm jacket but……..

Really lovely jacket but o should have taken heed of others comments because the body length is on the long side and the arms are very long! I have riled the arms up to reveal the lining which actually looks nice but the lining, being a pale colour, is now grubby looking

Perfect jacket!

Been looking for an insulated jacket for years, they never fit well or meet my sustainability standards but this one is perfect! Good fit, super warm, and as a sheep farmer I’m especially delighted that it’s made from wool (UK wool?).

Thanks for the review! Great to hear you love the jacket.

The insulation uses recovered Merino wool fibres from UK-based HD Wool, primarily sourced in the UK.

Warm light weight good colour, good fit

I have recently moved to an office adjacent to the shop floor and it's drafty with varied heating. This jacket has been a great asset to wear under my work wear.

Fabulous jacket

Bought this for my wife who absolutely loves this jacket. Isobaa has great colours so looks great and a bit different from other brands.

Very warm and exceptionally light

I have a small frame and most padded jackets make me look a lot larger than I actually am. Because the wool is so warm, the jacket doesn’t need to be bulky, meaning it looks very flattering on. The only partly negative thing I would say is because it’s such a good fit, I can’t also wear a jumper underneath! This isn’t a problem from a warmth point of view outside, but if I’ve taken it off in a café, for example, I don’t feel as though I’m wearing enough underneath.

So happy with my new jacket!

I love this jacket. I ordered from the USA and it was here within 3 weeks. I ordered a slightly bigger size than usual (first product order, so I was not familiar with fit) and glad I did. I like that it is roomy around my hips (can fit a sweater under it) but not too much, sleeves are good length too. It's lightweight and I'm excited that it's not down. Wool is so much warmer and I live in a rainy area, so it's handy that it can get a bit wet and still keeps me warm. It's hard to get a wool insulated jacket in the USA, and I am thrilled that it all worked out.
Thank you for a great product. I also really like the company's philosophy.

Thanks for the great review, Berry!

We're so glad you're enjoying your new jacket and that it's keeping you warm and cosy! We appreciate your support and are happy our values resonate with you.

Disspointed

The jacket is not as waterproof as is advertised, and also windproof insulated as deschibed in the characterization. It was a light rain and the jacket got wet inside. Amaized sunce people are giving review below, sawing the jacket rezists to rain.

We're sorry to hear that the jacket didn't meet your expectations. It's designed for light rain resistance and insulation, and it's disappointing to hear that it didn't perform as anticipated.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or need tips on how to maximise your jacket's performance.

Small fitting anyway and note it’s dry clean only

Firstly, I’ve had hundreds of merino wool items before and always successfully washed them and also tumble dried them with no issues. It would make sense since they are all active wear for outdoor sports. This item I did not realise was dry clean only (why would it be!!) so I washed it on 30 degrees in error like everything else. It was already a bit tight (and was a Large) but now it fits our 4 year old. Very disappointed. Warning to others, don’t bother as why would you want something that gets sweaty on dry clean only!?

Thank you for your feedback, Emma.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the sizing and care requirements. The dry clean only requirement is made clear on both the product page, and care label, but we appreciate your point about the practicality of this. We are looking into a revised design that will offer more versatile care options.

Please get in touch with our support team if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Good jacket, a couple of finish gripes

Very windproof. Very light. Delicate fabric. Good hood. Love the lining, weirdly. Haven't tried in the wet yet. I actually bought two sizes. The XS is a better fit on the body and useful as a light coverall, the S will be better with a jumper under it in colder weather. Two gripes - the cuffs on the XS are so small - and have inflexible fabric at the wrist - that I can only take the sleeves off by turning them inside out - and there are a few loose threads on it around the garment, at cuffs and seams, and a couple of stitches looped out on one sleeve (that I've only just noticed after it being in the wardrobe for a couple of weeks before wearing). Quality of the finish could have been better for the money. Overall I think it's a good light windproof jacket, but I wouldn't wear it near thorns!

Dear Claret,

Thank you so much for leaving a review, and we're glad to hear that overall you're happy with your purchase.

We apologise for the issues you experienced with loose threads on the garment and we're sorry to hear that the cuffs are a bit small. These both sound like manufacturing faults, and we would be grateful if you could contact us directly with additional information so we can look in to this and offer you a resolution.

We appreciate your support, and we hope you continue to enjoy your jacket(s)! If you have any further concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Best regards,

Disappointed

Disappointed with the fit for women, great for at the top, but hips were too narrow. I also compared fir against other insulated jackets, to size up: the jacket overall would have been too big. Felt like a nice warm jacket.

Womens Merino Jacket

I initially inadvertently ordered the wrong size (L) which was too long in the sleeve and too big in the body, so replaced it with a (M) jacket which is come up a lot smaller and feel quite snug across the shoulders. So haven't really worn it yet - as can't put many layers under the jacket. So will see how it goes as the winter progressing regarding warmth and durability.

Fantastic Insulating layer - No more stress about getting caught in the rain!

What a wonderful alternative to a down jacket. It only weighs a fraction more than and equivalent down coat might weigh but allows me to not be worried about getting caught in the all-too-frequent rainy spells while out and about. Was warm enough to provide good insulation in a cold Tromso spring, but is also proving a perfectly adaptable layer for this cold spring in Cornwall. Well made and extremely good value for money. I would absolutely recommend it - and that's before even getting to the sustainability of the garment!
My only gripe (if you can even call it that) is that the wrists are quite narrow for my large hands, making it slightly tight to pull on and off, but also making it very good at preventing any wind or wet getting in the sleeves so really it could be a positive aswell.

Really lightweight but warm and cosy. Regulates body temperature well and looks great - love this jacket!

Love it

Really love it, it's incredibly lightweight yet very warm.
My only criticism is that it's quite tight around the shoulders (I'm 6ft tall) and ordinarily I would buy a larger size though this size (XL) was the largest available.

Light yet warm and good insulation.

I liked the fact that the jacket is made with recycled products and love the fit. it's really snug and comfortable. Not too bulky so can be worn under a waterproof of light coat.

Good morning, I would like to know the percentage of wool in gr/m2 for the jacket."Womens Merino Wool Insulated Jacket (Petrol/Lime)"
Thank you very much.

Isobaa

The women’s jacket contains approximately 200g of insulation in total, though this refers to the overall fill weight rather than g/m².

Hu, Just purchased the merino insulated jacket. Noticed it’s dry clean only . The outer layer has DWR coating - with dry cleaning - how and when will this need reapplication? . I have previously had down jackets which require DWR reproofing every approx 6 washes. Many thanks

Isobaa

Dry cleaning solvents can reduce the effectiveness of the DWR, though the rate depends on the cleaner’s process. We don't really have a set schedule for reapplication, the key sign is when water stops beading on the surface. At that point, a spray-on reproofer can be used. The merino insulation will still keep you warm even if the shell wets out though, which is a key advantage over down.

What is the weight of WOMENS MERINO WOOL INSULATED JACKET (PETROL/LIME) ? I noticed one reviewer said it's a bit heavier than a down jacket ... I like to travel light so weight is important to me.

Isobaa

Hi Theresa,

Our womens merino wool insulated jacket weighs approx 710g in size medium. When you are on a product page, if you click the 'features' tab we list the weight of products in the bullet points there.

If you're looking for something lighter weight we'd recommend our packable insulated jacket.

All the best,
The Isobaa Team
